Jack Andrew Ours' Obituary
Jack Andrew Ours, 60, of Stafford County passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 at VA Hospital Center.
He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict and was the recipient of the Bronze Star.
Jack is survived by his wife of 40 years, Alda; two daughters, Cherlyn Decker and her husband, Adam of Manassas and Arlene Ours of Virginia Beach; two granddaughters, Naomi and Chloe Decker ; two sisters, Barbara Phillips of Amissville and Kathy Simpson and her husband, Barry of Petersburg, West Virginia; four brothers, Roger Ours and his wife, Barbara of Fairfax Station, Brady Ours and his wife, Linda of Gainesville, David Ours and his wife, Alma of Lorton and Thomas Ours and his wife, Lisa of Manassas; numerous nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Glenna F. Bonnell of Culpeper and his sister-in-law, Damaris Bonnell of Casanova.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Ireda Ours; his father-in-law, Glen D. Bonnell; and his brother-in-law, Charles Phillips.
Jack’s family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Manassas Assembly of God, 11500 Newlife Way, Bristow, Virginia. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2012 at the church with Pastor Andrew Casper officiating. Interment will follow in Quantico National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Jack’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society, c/o Trudy Clifton, 113 Tall Pines Avenue, Locust Grove, VA 22508.
