Sheila,
Sorry to hear about your Mom. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you and the families.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Sheila and Sonya. Hazel was a wonderful lady and co-worker. I have many memories of Hazel and the telephone company.

It was our pleasure to work with dear Hazel Lamb for several years at Hope Aid Ministries, Open Door Baptist Church. Her ladies would gather at an old building on
Tuesdays to sort donated clothing, shoes etc. We welcomed people who were
in need to make selections. It was an amazing experience for all of us.
Our interest began when we went in to select nice clothing for the American Veterans
who resided temporarily at the domiciliary at the VA Hospital in Martinsburg, WVa. These
vets had been homeless, living on the streets. Here they stayed until they were ready to
go out on their own after they received training. Because of Hazel these veterans were
able to make a good appearance on their new jobs.
My husband, Tom and I personally loaded 13 loads of nice clothing in our pick-up truck and took them to the domiciliary to be given to our veterans thanks to our friend Hazel.
She was so kind, generous and loving. We will never forget her.
Eventually the City took over our old building and razed it to make way for other projects.
We tried to find another building, but we found nothing so Hope Aid Ministries came to an
end. We will never forget the treasured memories that we have of all our people.
Years back, Hazel Lamb was honored by the City of Culpeper as a Culpeper Colonel.
We salute you, Hazel, a rare, unselfish and caring lady. Much love from Donna and Tom Lathe
