Gladys Batchelor's Obituary
Gladys Jeanette Batchelor, 69, of Fredericksburg passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at Golden Living Nursing and Rehab Center.
In her youth, Gladys was involved in ROTC and was crowned Miss Cherry Blossom in 1958 in Washington, DC
Gladys is survived by her husband, Ernest Batchelor of Fredericksburg; her children, Denise Sloggett and her husband, Jeff of Arizona; Richard Carter and his wife, Maureen of Australia; Linda Teasdale and her husband, Milton of Fredericksburg; Glenn Allen Batchelor of Fredericksburg and Sharon Hall of Orange; her brother, Robert Carter and his girlfriend, Donna Roach; her cousin, Eddie Valtoven; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Leona Carter.
Gladys’ family will receive friends Thursday, May 21, 2009 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service celebrating Gladys’ life will be held Friday, May 22, 2009 at 10:00 am at the funeral chapel. Interment will follow in Mount Comfort Cemetery, Alexandria.
