Frederick Harry Hundemer Jr.'s Obituary
Frederick Harry Hundemer, Jr., 93, of Spotsylvania County passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at his home.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and went to work for the Federal Government following the war. He retired from the Department of Education after 38 years of Federal Service.
Frederick is survived by two sons, Robert Hundemer (Constance) of Spotsylvania and Richard Hundemer (Martha) of Gainesville; two daughters, Sandra Hill of Spotsylvania and Carol Reeves (Christopher) of West Virginia; sister, Rita Hundemer of Arizona; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Helen Theresa Hundemer and a son, Frederick Hundemer.
Frederick’s family will receive friends from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2018 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2018 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 10725 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018 in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Alexandria.
In lieu of flowers, Frederick’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060-9904.
