Franklin Peter DeGaetani's Obituary
Franklin Peter DeGaetani, 71, died peacefully at home on Monday, September 4, 2023. The son of the late Frank and Doris DeGaetani, of Richmond, Virginia, he was born on October 23, 1951.
He graduated from Hermitage High School, class of '70, attended the U.S. Naval Academy, and went on to work for Reynolds Metals Company for 26 years in Virginia and Washington. He was asked to work for Alcoa Aluminum in Tennessee and later as a consultant for Arconic. Volunteering was important for him, from Rotary membership to church missions and Sunday School classes.
His son, James Robert Williamson, went to be with the Lord in 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Susan L. DeGaetani; daughter, Carrie Blanche Mossman; three grandchildren, Greyson James Holly of Chicago, James Robert Williamson, III of Yorktown, and William Franklin Mossman of Front Royal; three sisters, Etta Kay Cruz, Yvonne Rose Lewis, and Evelyn Cage; and one sister-in-law, Jeanne Mrazek.
A memorial service will be held at his beloved Culpeper Presbyterian Church, 301 S. Main Street, Culpeper, VA 22701, on Thursday, September 14, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a reception. Memorial donations may be made to the Culpeper Presbyterian Church Christian Education Fund.
