Francis "Frank" Rodney Short's Obituary
Francis “Frank” Rodney Short, 86, of Culpeper, VA died peacefully on January 1, 2025, in Culpeper Hospital. He was born on November 9, 1938 in Washington, DC.
Frank served in the Air Force for 12 years, enjoyed transporting clients for Virginia Handi Ride for 10+ years, and was a charter and lifetime member of the Reva Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. He was in the Fire and EMS field for 40+ years. Frank was also an active participant in his community serving on the HOA Board and enjoyed spending time camping at Colonial Beach.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Short; daughters, Dawn Randall (Orhan), Janice Craigue, and Rebecca White; grandchildren, Holly Hatcher (Corey), Allison Abedrabo (Haytham), Amanda Green, Abby Green, TJ White, and Jeremy Clark; and great-grandchildren, James Hatcher, Noah Hatcher, Hannah Abedrabo, Sarah Abedrabo, Layla Abedrabo, Jayden Jones, Mason Alexander, and Jesai Tapscott.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Isabella Short; and siblings, Betsey Batt and Mickey Short.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Reva Fire Hall, 18230 Birmingham Road, Culpeper, VA 22701, on January 24th, 2025 at 11:00am.
