Evadine Ruth Cooper's Obituary
Evadine Ruth Cooper, 95, 0f Fredericksburg went to be with her lord and savior on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.
Evadine loved life and would share her love and happiness with all she met. She never met a stranger, and would go out of her way to help others even if she didn’t know them personally. Evadine had a green thumb and loved beautiful flowers and gardening. She led a busy and interesting life, and was involved with in many activities. She was an active member of her community, a past member of the Fredericksburg Woman’s Club. She was a member of Gamma Upsilon and Xi Beta Chi chapters of the Sigma Phi Sorority where she held many positions including past President. As a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fredericksburg Elk’s Lodge #875, she served as a past President and a member of the Board of Trustees. During her life she traveled extensively, and was fondly known to her family and friends as Engelbert Humperdinck’s biggest fan.
Evadine is survived by her two sons; Don Cooper (Denise) of Hartwood, and Dennis Cooper (Lourdes) of Alexandria, and a grandson Patrick R. Cooper, as well as many other family members and close personal friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Wyvel P. Cooper, and by her grandson Casey W. Cooper
There will be a visitation for her from 1:30pm to 2:30pm on Monday, January 31, 2022, at Fairview Baptist Church, located at 900 Charlotte Street, Fredericksburg, VA, 22401. A funeral service will be held for her stating at 2:30pm at the church. Interment at Quantico National cemetery with her husband Wyvel will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of charitable donations in her name to Micah Ministries at 1013 Princess Anne St, Fredericksburg, VA 22401, or to Fairview Baptist Church.
