I used to say that, “Mema and Papa adopted me when I married Susan.” That sentiment would continue throughout both of their lives.
It was a privilege to sit under their ministry as Pastors of Zion Full Gospel Church and later to have them serve with Susan and me as Elders and Trustees of Calvary Christian Church.
Mema never met anyone she didn’t love. She opened her heart and home to take in many with her hospitality. Mema (and Papa) was one of our longest serving members. They were recognized by Mill Park Terrace as having the longest running home group and opened the door to Chapel services in the meeting room.
Mema will always be loved and remembered by all who knew her.

My momma was the best!! She loved the Lord with her whole heart. She loved all 87 members of her family and so many others she adopted as family throughout the many years. We will miss her greatly and know her heart was to be in the presence of the Lord ever since Daddy passed on March 9,2011. We know she’s perfectly whole and healed now enjoying her eternal home in heaven.-Susan (her youngest child)
