Eileen Borden Peck Snead's Obituary
Eileen Borden Peck Snead of Columbus, Indiana, went to be with her Lord on July 1, 2018. She passed away at 10:55 a.m. Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Keepsake Village-Columbus.
Eileen was born in Fincastle, Virginia on August 12, 1927 to William Morgan Peck and Annie Carol Housmann Peck. Eileen dearly loved her hometown and loved visiting as often as she could. She graduated from Radford College in Virginia with a degree in education.
Eileen was married in 1952 to William Roswell "Bill" Snead. Eileen and Bill resided in Culpeper, Virginia for fifty years where they raised their three children and made many lifelong friends. She was a member of Stevensburg Baptist Church in Stevensburg, Virginia. In 2011 Eileen moved to Columbus, Indiana where she enjoyed spending time with family members, her grandsons, and her twin great granddaughters whom she dearly loved. Eileen quickly made many new friends in Columbus. While living in Columbus Eileen attended Terrace Lake Church.
Besides visiting with friends, Eileen also loved playing the organ at her home and at church, cooking meals for family and friends, and gardening. She enjoyed making others feel comfortable and liked to give gifts to others.
Survivors include her daughter, Ann (Rob) Snead Woodbridge of Columbus, IN.; sons, Bill Snead of Richmond, VA., David Snead of Tulsa, OK.; grandson, Tim (Julie) Woodbridge of Bloomington, IN.; grandson, Brian Woodbridge also of Columbus, IN.; twin great-granddaughters, Anna Carol Woodbridge and Lydia Iree Woodbridge of Bloomington, IN. and niece, Ann (Randy) Snead Saliga of Maggie Valley, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Stevensburg Baptist Church Cemetery in Stevensburg, Virginia with a time of food and fellowship afterwards at the church.
