Dorothy King's Obituary
Dorothy “Dottie” Silbert King, 69, of Culpeper died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was born July 16, 1941 in Washington, D.C. to the late Harry and Ruth Compton Silbert.
Mrs. King retired after 15 years from the Culpeper Soil and Conservation Service and following retirement went on to work at Curves for Women for 9 years dispensing jokes, humor and tough love. She was a member of Culpeper Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder and Deacon, as well as a member of the choir, Sunday School Superintendant and Pulpit Committee. Mrs. King was the first secretary of the Culpeper Little League Baseball and served on the Culpeper County Recreation Committee. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Larry Coleman King, her children, Michael C. King and his wife, Kathy of Leesburg, Christopher A. King and his wife, Liza of Mechanicsville, two grandchildren, Carter and Daelan King, one brother, John Silbert and his wife, Karen of Fredericksburg and one sister, Virginia Guthridge and her husband, Dave of Stafford.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Culpeper Presbyterian Church with Dr. R. Wayne Bernardo officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Culpeper Presbyterian Church, 215 S. Main St., Culpeper, VA 22701
