RIP Ms.Dot

Ms. Dot, we have been friends for 15 years. I have been blessed to have the opportunity to be there by your side and assist in taking care of you the last 5 years. I have enjoyed our many outings to lunch and just going for a car ride. I also enjoyed sitting on the porch just swaying in the breezing admiring your beautiful flowers. As I became a trainer for the county 8 years ago, your advice has helped me so much to achieve getting my trainees passed their CDL test. "You have to watch them mirrors" was an all-time favorite line of yours. I will never forget when I brought a trainee out to your house when you were 83 years old, we backed down the driveway in the bus, you were sitting on the porch with a cigarette in one hand and what looked like a bandage on your arm. When I asked what happened? You said "it's a nicotine patch, I was trying to quit smoking, and I have the gum too" I asked why were you trying to smoke, you were going to overdo the nicotine. You looked at me so seriously and said... "I am 83 years old, and I haven't quit yet, ain't no sense in trying to now!" and you took the patch off and spit the gum out and lit that cigarette. We sure had a lot of laughs in our time. I miss you every day. Not a day goes by that I don't think about you. In the words of Dolly Parton, you sure are "An Eagle When She Flies"!!!!!
You were more than a friend you were a mentor to me. I missed our talks at 4:30 in the morning. We were able to encourage each other in our daily ups and downs. I loved the knowledge you would give me and helped me to understand life around here in Spotsylvania. You taught me so much! Just the other day I went to call you and had to remind myself you went home to be with the Lord. You always said you couldn’t wait to get to heaven to get the new body so you wouldn’t hurt anymore and could see again. Love you so much Kathy
