Doris Lucille Blend's Obituary
Doris Lucille Barnett Blend, 80, of Fredericksburg passed away Monday, December 13, 2010 at Mary Washington Hospital after a brief illness.
She was the daughter of the late William and Lucille Barnett and sister to Eleanor Barnett Helbig, and the late Wayne Barnett.
Mrs. Blend was a native of Brooklyn, New York. Doris and her beloved husband of 59 years, Nicholas Joseph Blend, Jr. moved to Virginia in 1979. She was a gifted seamstress and loving homemaker.
Doris is survived by her four children; Timothy Blend, Christine Blend Celenza, Nicholas Blend, III, and Debra Blend Jackson. Mrs. Blend was also the cherished grandmother of nine grandchildren, Nicole Blend Theiler, Frank Celenza, Morgan Blend, Luke Celenza, Hayley Blend, Brian Blend, Matthew Blend, Julia Blend, and Jake Jackson.
Doris’ family will receive friends Saturday, December 18, 2010 from 1:00-7:00 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg with a service in her memory at 2:00 pm with Pastor Justin Williams officiating.
