Diane Carol Kuechler's Obituary
Diane Carol (Mulatz) Kuechler was born September 16, 1937 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Chicago, Illinois to Leo and Ella Mulatz. On Thursday, March 06, 2014, she passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Mark Kuechler; her brother, Leo "Butch" Mulatz ; her sister, Valerie Tarala, nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Chicago’s Taft High School in1955; and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington Illinois in 1959.
Diane started her career teaching art. As a real estate agent, she achieved top status in the Champaign County Illinois Board of Realtors. Diane was an artist at heart and pursued her passion for beauty through gardening, flower arranging, pottery, jewelry design, painting and sewing.
In 1993 she started “Custom Floral Designs” and over the years created many memories for brides and customers with her floral arrangements that were personalized to honor their special events.
If “Miss Diane” came to visit, you could expect a floral arrangement to compliment the spirit of your invitation would arrive with her, a treat for the enjoyment of all.
Diane cared about her community and was a Life Member of the Spotsylvania Volunteer Fire Department Company 1 Auxiliary and an active member of the Kenmore Garden Guild.
Mark Kuechler would like to thank the doctors and staff of Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center, Dr. Cannon her oncologist, Dr. King her surgeon, MEZ Massey of Amedysis Home Health Care, Heartland Hospice, and especially Vanessa Marin, for their loving care of Diane.
Diane’s family will receive friends from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Fredericksburg Area Food Bank is requested. Diane believed that no one should go to bed hungry and you would honor her memory with a contribution to aid in the fight against hunger.
