Derek Matthew Howe's Obituary
Derek Howe, 32 of Partlow, VA originally from Elba, NY, died Sunday evening, May 17, 2020 in a motorcycle accident.
Derek was a very experienced rider, from four-wheelers, three-wheelers, dirt bikes, street bikes and snowmobiles. Anything with wheels and an engine!
Derek was an entrepreneur. He would buy it, fix it, and “Sell it for more then I bought it for”. You could always find him tinkering in the garage or working out in the yard.
Derek enjoyed bonfires (burning things), going to the mountains, mudding, camping, riding (basically all things outdoors), and being with his lady.
Derek’s love for going fast started young. He was part of several riding crews since he was 14 and shared his love of riding with his niece and everyone else around him.
Derek had a huge heart. Whatever he was doing, he would stop if someone needed him. He loved animals and they loved him.
Derek is survived by his mother, Melinda Dalton; stepfather, James Dalton; sister, Marissa Logan and her husband, Matthew; beloved nieces, Desirae Howe and Cassidie Logan; grandmother, Janie Schillo; his girlfriend, Renee Adams, and her father, Kenneth Adams; his pup, Pistol Annie Get your Gun (Annie); aunt, Melissa Boody and her husband, Robert; cousins, Macie Brown and her husband, Michael Brown, Jr., Michael Brown III, Faith Boody, and Amanda Boody; father, David Howe; and stepmother, Debbie Howe.
A private celebration of Derek’s life will be held for his family and close friends.
