I only had the pleasure of knowing Derek the last few years, but he was still one of my closest friends. Always the first guy to hit people up "we riding today? Working on trails? What are we doing?" I miss you terribly my friend and I only wish we could've all got more time to ride together..I love you brother, please watch over us and keep us safe dude!!
Derek was the most protective big brother. He was an amazing uncle. I never had to worry about Desi when she was with him. He taught her how to ride and she was so proud that she was able to finally be big enough to ride on his bike with him.
I will miss you so much. I know we didn’t always get along but we always were there for each other.
I’ll always remember riding through fields in Elba. Falling off the back of snowmobiles, cheering at your basketball and football games, the time you were gonna take me to winter formal because nobody asked me and telling my husband that you were gonna look over my new bike before I got on it.
