David Allen Starkey's Obituary
David Allen Starkey (55), of Locust Grove, Virginia, passed away on November 23, 2022 as a result of a tragic car accident.
David was born in Youngstown, Ohio, but spent most of his life in Virginia. He is survived by his mother, Jane Starkey of Bristow, VA; brother, Joseph Starkey, and his wife Danielle, and their four children: Amber Tomaszewski of Fort Hood, TX , Nathan Starkey, United States Air Force Academy, Elisabeth Starkey and Marissa Starkey, both of Harpers Ferry, WVA.
David was the owner of Starkey's Auto Repair in Culpeper, Virginia for 14 years and later specialized as a diesel mechanic. His passion was motorcycles and he regularly attended national events to include Daytona, Sturgis, Gettysburg, Colonial Beach and Rolling Thunder. He epitomized the Red, White and Blue collar patriot, who believed that hard work, honesty and looking a man in the eye was the only way to live. If he met in town for dinner or a drink, his body and face bore the marks of a man who knew nothing but earning a wage with his hands. These hands were always either holding a wrench or extending them to help someone in need.
A member of the V-Twin Brotherhood motorcycle organization as well as the Sons of Abe motorcycle club. This man lived a simple, transparent and admirable life and will be missed.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2022 in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
