David Eugene Roberts' Obituary
David Eugene Roberts, age 74, formally of Springfield, VA, passed away at his home in Culpeper on April 22, 2014.
He was born in Big Rock, VA on July 28, 1939 to Maston and Clara Roberts.
He was married to Janet Roberts for 51 wonderful years.
Dave worked at the Naval Research Laboratories (NRL) for 43 years in the space science division. He then proceeded to work with Artep Corporation as an electrical engineer. Dave worked on satellites that are in our atmosphere today.
Not only was Dave an avid golfer, skier, biker, but since 1970 he donated countless hours toward little league teams, even servicing as the President of the Lorton Little League.
He is survived by his wife Janet Goodman Roberts. Their son and daughter-in-law David and Jan Roberts. Their grandchildren Nathan, Allison, and Maston. His mother Clara Roberts. His brother Kenneth Roberts and wife. His sister Judy Hertzog and husband. He was preceded in death by his father Maston Mac Roberts and a sister Carolyn Sue.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00 on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel located at 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA, with a service immediately following.
There will be a celebration of Dave’s life at the Salem Fire Station located at 8279 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, Va. 22701 following the service.
