David Carl Lumpkins' Obituary
David Carl “Lumpy” Lumpkins, 48, of Locust Grove, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at his home.
David was a devout Christian and was always concerned about other peoples’ salvation. He enjoyed fishing and dancing and loved spending time with his grandchildren. David was always the joker in the crowd and loved to make everyone around him laugh.
David is survived by his wife, Bonnie; four stepsons, Carl Nelson and his wife, Dawn of Locust Grove, James Nelson and his wife, Jackie of Florida, Randilee Nelson and his wife, Yvonne of Kentucky and Mark Nelson of Locust Grove; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wally and Chris Lumpkins, both of Spotsylvania County and one sister, Brenda Lee of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Gracy Lumpkins.
David’s family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Nave Family Cemetery, King George, VA.
In lieu of flowers, David’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org).
