David Charles Richard Lamond's Obituary
David C. Lamond, an honored sensei who established Quantico Dojo, died suddenly at age 75, on February 18th at his home in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
David is survived by his three children, his son Brian Lamond, wife Dawn, his daughter Heather Withall, husband Scott, and his son Scott Lamond, wife Justyne. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Brian’s son Brayden, aged 10, and Heather’s children Madelynn, aged 10, Casey, aged 6, and Chase, aged 3.
David was born on April 25th, 1944 in The Bronx, New York. He graduated from Clarkstown Senior High school in New City, New York. He went on to obtain an Associate in Arts from Rockland Community College and a Bachelor of Arts from Dominican College of Blauvelt, New York. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War while serving in the United States Army, and retired from the Ramapo Police Department in New York. David was most remembered by his students and fellow instructors where he spent 45 years training others. Although he was not known as a fisherman, he was definitely an angler. David was an avid horseman and spent time in the Mounted Police. He was a beloved grandfather who was often found storytelling with his grand children gathered close.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel on Courthouse Road in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
