David Beaumont Carter's Obituary
David Beaumont Carter, 76, of Stevensburg, VA died Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville, VA. He was born June 22, 1945 in Virginia to the late Woodrow and Gertrude Carter.
David’s life consisted of an array of ventures from selling cars and farm equipment at Culpeper Motor Corporation to law enforcement. Law enforcement was his true love. He served his community through being an officer for the Culpeper Town Police and also the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Department, from which he retired. In 2010 he acquired the Cub Cadet Dealership in Culpeper and most recently owned and operated Old Hickory Buildings in Stevensburg, until retiring again December 19, 2020. David is a member and deacon at Lael Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and a member of Masonic Lodge (Fairfax Lodge 43), where he served and held many different offices. He had a love of animals and in his younger years enjoyed fox hunting with Rappahannock Hunt as well as working on the farm.
David is survived by his wife, Rhoda Brown Carter, daughter, Tamara Carter Lee (Bruce), and sister, J. Carter Hipp (John), nephew, Austin Hipp, and niece, Morgan Hipp King (Brooks).
A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 12:00 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Pastor David Brown officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family is requesting that all guests wear masks while in attendance.
