In 1969 I began teaching at King George High School. My classroom was situated across the hall from Cheryl's classroom, and we became fast friends both in and outside the workplace. That friendship has lasted through the years with phone calls and personal visits. As in all true friendships, whenever we spoke the time between visits ceased to exist and we picked up right where we were the last time. Cheryl was brilliant, funny, caring, and rock-steady. I miss her terribly and send deepest sympathies and condolences to Tom and Heather because we know just who we've lost.
