Charlotte was a lovely lady whose commitment to helping those less fortunate in the community was evident by her volunteering as a Fredericksburg AARP chapter member and her affiliation with From the Heart Stitchers.
As an AARP chapter member Charlotte, along with other members, would collect donations outside several of our local Giant food stores with all donations going to the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank. There were times when she would also volunteer to pack food boxes at the food bank which would then be distributed to the hungry. As part of the chapter's community service Charlotte would also volunteer to visit local nursing homes bringing comfort and gift bags to the residents.
Her commitment to community service was also evident as a member of From the Heart Stitchers which gifts handmade items like chemo hats for local cancer centers as well as hats for the babies in hospitals, and for the past year making Covid -19 masks for the community.
It was a true pleasure knowing Charlotte these past few years, and I will miss her.
