Charles Ashton Furr's Obituary
Charles “Chuck” Ashton Furr, 59, of Madison and Gordonsville, VA and most recently of Owings, MD went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. He was born in Fauquier County, VA to the late Willie Ashby and Mildred Jenkins Furr.
He was a member of both Novum Baptist Church in Reva, VA and Dunkirk Baptist Church in Dunkirk, MD. He worked in the maintenance department for Rental Uniform Services, R.U.S. before his retirement. Chuck had a passion for his church, music, the Redskins and most any other sport.
Chuck is survived by two brothers: Jimmie Woodward and his wife Josie of Culpeper, and Willie Ashby Furr, Jr. and his wife Ann of Owings, MD; two sisters: Fleda Pugliese and her husband Domenico of Penn laird, VA, and Sharon Ortiz of Reva, VA, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Frederick Lewis Furr.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper VA 22701.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the Found and Sons Funeral Chapels of Culpeper with Pastor Jeff Light of Novum Baptist Church officiating.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery next to the funeral home, joining his parents.
Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is serving the family.
