Carol Jane Ranney's Obituary
Carol Jane Ranney, 74, of Culpeper, Va passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Culpeper Hospital. She was born July 27, 1951 to the late Howard and Marian Bradley in Jamestown, New York.
Carol will be lovingly remembered as a devoted leader, creative spirit, and a woman whose greatest joy was caring for those she loved. She proudly served as President of Vietnam Veterans of America Associates for several years, where she dedicated her time, leadership, and heart to supporting veterans and their families. Her commitment and compassion made a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working alongside her.
Carol had a deep love for creativity. She enjoyed crafting with her Cricut, scrapbooking cherished memories, and spending time on computer games and puzzles. These hobbies reflected her thoughtful nature and her appreciation for both detail and imagination.
She also found freedom and joy on the open road, especially when riding her beloved Spyder motorcycle—something that perfectly matched her adventurous spirit.
Above all, Carol’s life was centered around her family and close friends. She was a devoted caregiver, always putting others first, offering unwavering love, support, and kindness. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to those around her.
Carol will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her generosity, her creativity, her leadership, and the love she so freely gave.
Carol is survived by her son, Barry Patrick Ranney; her sister, Diane Bradley and her grandson, Evan Patrick Ranney.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Keith Ranney; her son, Brian Keith Ranney and her brother, David Arthur Bradley.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 from 4-6 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, Va.
Interment will be private at Culpeper National Cemetery.
