Carmelo Miguel Borges' Obituary
MAJ (Ret.) Carmelo Miguel Borges, 57, of Fredericksburg passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Sentara Potomac Hospital.
Carmelo served in the US Army and retired with more than 25 years of public service in September 2012. He was a member of the Battlefield Corvette Club and the National Hispanic Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees.
Carmelo is survived by his wife of 36 years, Helena; a son, Reggie Borges and his wife, Lindsey Rae of Oregon; a daughter, Becky Borges of Virginia; his mother, Carmen Rosado; two sisters, Carmen S. Borges and Ivelisse Rangel and a brother, Luis Rangel and his wife, Ivelisse Benito, all of Puerto Rico; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carmelo Borges.
Carmelo’s family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 10, 2012 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, Carmelo’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to The V Foundation, 106 Towerview Court, Cary, NC 27513.
