Britt Gore's Obituary
Britt Gore, 86, daughter of the late Walter and Francis Britton of Flemington, NJ, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2011 after a short battle with cancer. She spent her final years in Charlottesville living comfortably at The Colonnades.
Britt was born on January 5, 1925 and graduated from George School, a Quaker boarding school in PA. She then attended Middlebury College in VT where she graduated in 1947, cum laude. She participated in Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and was selected to Phi Beta Kappa. She met her husband, Harold M. “Bob” Gore, Jr. while at Middlebury. They were married in 1949.
Britt is survived by her three sons, Chris of Gunnison, CO, Geoff of Bennington, VT and Barry of Dexter, MI, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Jennifer Gore Lewis.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery.
Britt was a lifelong dog and cat lover and requested donations be made in lieu of flowers to the SPCA of your choice.
