Bill Varney, Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Willie Bill Varney, Jr., 76 of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, September 26 at his home.
Willie retired from the Washington Post in 1993 as a Photo Engraver. He is a veteran of the USArmy serving during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Betty; a son, George W. Varney of Ohio; two step-sons, Richard J. Roberts of Bowling Green and Ronald J. Roberts of Texas; a daughter, Cheryl A. Bentley of Ohio; two step-daughters, Rhonda J. Edwards of Orange and Brenda S. Parsons of Spotsylvania; a brother, Ernest Varney of N.C.; a sister, Elva Preece of Kentucky, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 1, 2007 from 6-8pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels - Cremation Service, Corner of Courthouse Rd. and Southpoint Pkwy. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at 1:00 pm at Quantico National Cemetery.
