Barney Allen Wells' Obituary
Barney Allen Wells passed away peacefully at his home on February 14, 2023. He was born on August 1, 1939 in Boissevain, Virginia to the late Mr. & Mrs. William Edgar Wells.
Barney served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After returning to the states from Germany he worked as a Procurement Manager at IBM for twenty years. He was an avid sports fan throughout his life and enjoyed playing numerous sports himself. During his retirement he liked keeping up with the lawn, watching sports and spending time with his wife and family. His greatest joy was being a PaPa/Pop-Pop to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Heiderose Julie Wells (Sandra); son, Mike Wells and Becky Fletcher of Luray, VA; daughter, Coleen McMeans and husband Darren McMeans of Culpeper, VA; four grandchildren, Daniel Wells and fiancé Brittane Miller, Nathan Wells and wife Cheryl Wells, Shana McMeans, Kyle McMeans; five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Jackson, Liam, Wyatt, Levi; two sisters, Carolyn Finley, Debbie Huerta.
The family will receive friends from 12-1 PM on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Found and Sons Funeral Home, 850 Sperryville Pike Culpeper, VA 22701. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM at Culpeper National Cemetery with military honors.
