I lived next door to Barbara my entire childhood. She changed my diapers when I was just 6 months old. She would bring me into her house at 7am, and feed me, take care of me and love me until the afternoon. She watched me get off the bus when I started school and put me on that church bus even though I didn’t wanna go. She listened to me when I cried, and hugged me when I sad. I was blessed to have her watch my child when she was only 6 months old. My mom trusted her with her life. We laughed together, and I loved her like a mother. I was beyond lucky to live next door to her, and so thankful for the way she touched my life. She will forever be missed in my heart. I will never forget the things she did for me, and I will always share the memories I have of her.
The lord took a great woman.

Barbara Sunday morning I got up to go walking but it was raining so I went back to your room to watch TV. That’s when I got a call from the nurse saying you had passed. My heart broke. My everything is gone. Now I’m all alone. I don’t know what I’m going to do without you. You were my first and only love. No one will ever take your place. I know God picked another angel, but he didn’t have to take my angel. You gave me three beautiful children and we have a pile of beautiful grand children. I know I can’t take the place of the wonderful Nannie you were to them but I will do my best. I know you loved your home place Covington Va. Like Vince Gill says go rest high on that mountain. Until we meet again in heaven. I love you. RIP my sweetheart.
Momma this is so hard, I don't know what I'm going to do without you. You were my rock no matter what I did wrong I was always your baby boy. It was you and you alone that kept the memory of me with the family now I will be forgotten and that too hurts. I will forever keep your memory alive I promise, I will keep trying to be the man you had always wanted me to be and stay out of trouble the best I can. I love you to the moon and back I'm so sorry me and daddy couldn't fix things between us where I wouldn't had missed so many yrs away from you. You will always be on my mind momma I miss you so much and I love u and till I see you again momma keep heaven beautiful for us we love u. Always your baby boy.
Words cannot express the void I feel from losing you mom. You were loved by more than just your family. I’m going to miss your beautiful smile, your loving hugs, your great sense of humor, and your big heart. The unbiased love you show to everyone is a characteristic not many people have. But you did!! My heart aches. I feel numb inside. I feel like the world is spinning but I’m stuck in one of the worst days of my life. That day is Sunday when dad told me that the hospital called and said you had passed. Those are the words that I was dreading to hear all week long. And now my mommy is gone. I know you are pain free but the pain I feel know is unbearable. I love you mom with all my heart and soul and every fiber of my being. Thursday and Friday are going to be one of the hardest things I have to do. Putting my mom to rest 😢.
There are no words to say how sorry I am for ya'lls loss...Nanny Barbara was such an amazing woman...always made everyone feel like family and treated every child as her own...anytime you walked into her home you felt like you were home...come in and sit a spell...no matter if she had 20 little ones she was tending to she never made you feel like you were imposing on her time...thank you all so much for sharing her with me...just like I feel like you are all my family I felt the same way about her...she will be missed by so many of us...RIP Nanny Barbara...Heaven has gained an Angel😇❤️🥰🙏🏻
