Barbara Williams Ankerbrand's Obituary
Barbara Williams Ankerbrand, 71, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021.
Barbara was born January 25, 1950 to Earnest and Loretta Williams in Buckhannon WV. She grew up in Buckhannon and after graduating high school, she attended Glenville State University. She spent over 25 years in retail as an office bookkeeper. After retiring, she prepared taxes and was a volunteer leader with AARP preparing taxes.
She loved to travel with her husband Lewis Ankerbrand across the country visiting relatives and national parks. Several times those trips also included their grandchildren. She was also a frequent user of Chapstick and avid reader.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 26 years, Lewis Ankerbrand; her six children, Charles Michael Degarmo Jr., and his wife, Sheila, Haley Gross, Allyn Ankerbrand, Shawn Ankerbrand, Amber Ramirez, and April Lenhoff; her mother, Loretta Williams, two brothers, Larry Williams and his wife, Teresa, and Roger Williams; a sister, Nancy Barros and her husband, Albert;14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a wonderful host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Found & Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will take place in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 26, 2021 with interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
