I spent many Saturday mornings with Barbara and Lew at the Salem Church Library conducting test sessions for amateur radio (Ham) licenses. Barb was always well-prepared and made all our applicants feel comfortable and confident. Over the years, she made it possible for hundreds of men, women and children to earn their radio operator’s licenses and go on to enjoy a wonderful hobby and serve their communities. Barbara sponsored me when I applied for examiner credentials. She was a valuable member of the of the Fredericksburg area amateur radio community and we shall miss her good cheer and support. Many amateur radio operators know each other only by their first name and radio call sign. So, farewell to Barbara K6AGC.

Barbara's good nature always included the giving of herself for others, from tax time to amateur radio time and especially to family time. She and Lewis were always a "team" in whatever they did. They took on westward adventures, sometimes with grandchildren to visit parks and enjoy the unique scenery of deserts and mountains.
Barbara, known in the amateur radio world by her call sign K6AGC, chaired many a test sessions. These tests enabled many people tp become ham radio operators.

Dear Lewis & family , As one of Barbara's newest members of her AARP crew I didn't know Barbara for very long . I am saddened by her passing . Barbara was such a warm, sharing friend, I shall forever cherish our times together during the past 15 or so years. She and Louis were a "made for each other" couple and I enjoyed every moment I spent with them. These memories will remain forever: the big hugs, the chuckles and camaraderie preparing for meetings, the photos and stories of their trips, how proud she was of her mom, her children, and especially her grandchildren. She happily shared her knowledge and time with others, especially through offering volunteer tax assistance annually and the regular amateur radio testing sessions she held at the Salem Church Road Library. I shall miss Barbara greatly but I'm sure Heaven is rejoicing that she's safe at home.
