Armetha Pennington Corbin's Obituary
Armetha Carolyn Pennington Corbin, 90, of Stanardsville died Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Evergreen Meadows Assisted Living in Stanardsville, VA. She was born March 29, 1920 in Harman, WV to the late George and Arfie Roy Pennington.
Mrs. Corbin was a teacher for over 40 years and spent the last 20 working for Fairfax County schools. She absolutely loved teaching and loved her students and would still receive holiday cards and gifts of remembrance from students from more than 40 years ago.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Fox and her husband, Lloyd of Charlottesville, three grandchildren, Michael Fox of Orlando, FL, Michelle Fox of Oakton, VA, and Heather Fox of Arlington, VA, and six siblings, Tony Pennington and Nealo Butcher both of Phoenix, AZ, George Pennington, Ray Pennington, Linda Pennington, Patricia Brunk, all of Newport News, VA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rector B. Corbin, one sister, Fay Summerfield and two other siblings who both died at an early age.
A private burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery.
