Ann Louise Mundy's Obituary
Ann Louise Mundy, 66, died Monday, January 30, 2023 at Culpeper Health and Rehab in Culpeper, VA. She was born October 3, 1956 in New Kensington, PA to the late Paul B. Dickerson and Margaret B. Kantor.
Ann was number 3 of 4 children in her family, with two sisters and one brother. To those who knew her, Ann was a tough woman. She thought of herself as the black sheep of the family, who endured many hardships over the years, but always pressed through them. She graduated from Lower Burrell High School. Ann married young and had three boys. She went through two divorces, suffered the loss of her mom in 2000 and her dad in 2004, fought breast cancer, had a heart attack, and was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and a tumor. Put up with a lot with her sons. She hurt, but she handled it well.
Despite the trouble, she was a lot of fun. She enjoyed riding her motorcycles for many years, taking trips across the country to Sturgis in South Dakota, Arizona, and Canada; she went all over on her bike. Ann was a member of ABATE for several years, both editing and writing in their newsletter. She then joined NCOM and was with them until around 2019 when the bike started getting heavy and her strength to ride started concerning her. That was a tough one for her.
Annie loved to sing karaoke with friends at the old Chelsea Joe’s in Manassas and the Moose lodge in Stephens City where she was a member. She loved to play board games with her kids and grandkids or do some crazy 1000-piece puzzle. She also loved to break out poker chips from time to time at the house. She loved to hang out with her long-time girlfriends and just talk and do what girls do together. Ann tried to make the best as she knew how of her circumstances. She worked hard to pay the bills as a single mom for many years and often had at least 2 jobs, a day job doing data entry or research and a night job as a waitress at Joe’s in Haymarket. She became a senior research analyst for about 20 years until her retirement in October 2021.
A great number of people loved Annie, and her infectious smile will be terribly missed by her family and friends who hope to carry on the conversation at a later date.
She is survived by her three sons, Keith Perry, Chris (Tina) Perry, and Kevin (Brittany) Perry; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren (with one on the way); and many more that called her mom or grandma, being loved and acknowledged as part of the family.
Ann’s soul is in the hands of the Everlasting God who gave His Son Jesus’ life as ransom, that all who repent and receive Him as Savior and Lord will be welcomed into His Holy presence as recorded in the Holy Bible.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Victory Gospel Church 9115 Weir Place Manassas, VA 20110 with Pastor Frank Menhart officiating.
