Alouise was a neighbor of mine in Silver Spring. Our backyards shared a property line. She was a kind and patient woman, and welcomed me often to her home. I used to take the "short cut" through her yard after school to my house. She joked with me that I would be in cap and gown asking if I could take the short cut. My family moved when I was 13, and I lost touch with Alouise. I had heard she moved to Virginia. It was just today (Oct 2016), I was remembering my childhood neighborhood and the people who influenced me there, that I searched for her online and learned of her passing in 2015. I have thought of her as I was growing up, and will treasure her memory. Please accept my condolences for your loss of a lovely woman. I'm grateful for her investment in my life, of welcoming me and loving me during our time as neighbors. I'm thankful to know of her love for the Lord and her secure home in heaven.
With sympathy,
Courtney Lilly
