Yvonne Albritton Kirtley's Obituary
On Tuesday, January 28th, Yvonne Albritton Barnhill
Kirtley (82), b. March 23, 1931, crossed the veil into eternal rest at
Bon Secour Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville, VA after a
long battle with COPD.
She was a native of Nokomis, Florida.
Memorial services were held Saturday, February 1st at
Found and Sons Funeral Home in Fredericksburg. Interment was
at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA, where her late
husband, William “Kirt” Kirtley, a military veteran, is buried.
Survivors include three children: Debby Barnhill Lane of
Fredericksburg, VA, Sheila Barnhill Hice, and Marty Barnhill, both
of Deland, FL.; sisters Emma Jean Albritton McGhee (92), Lucedale,
MS, and Edna Albritton Raines (84), Pensacola, FL. In addition to
her three children, she leaves behind five (5) grandchildren (Angela
Chesser, Gabriel Hill, Julia Lane-Ryan, Christopher Lane and Brian
Fox); four (4) great-grandchildren, (Blake, Joel and Michael Chesser
and Olivia Hill); five (5) great-great-grandchildren (Samarra,
Maiyah, Jayelin, Evaliyah and Ava Chesser); and numerous nieces
and nephews. Her indomitable spirit and ever-youthful personality
will be missed by all.
The youngest of eight siblings, she was preceded in death by
sisters Agnes Albritton Hollingsworth, Gwendolyn Albritton Irwin,
Ruby Albritton Rushing, Gladys Albritton Caraway, and one
brother, Marion “Bud” Albritton.
In lieu of sending flowers, Yvonne indicated a preference for
contributions to the American Cancer Society. Friends and family
