Willie Carrington Smith Jr.'s Obituary
Carrington Smith, age 87, went to heaven to be with the love of his life Louella Smith on March 23, 2026. He passed peacefully surrounded by family at his daughter Lisa’s home. He was born August 4, 1938, in Washington DC to Willie C. Smith, Sr. and Edith (White) Smith.
Carrington is survived by his two daughters, Lisa Stuart and Teresa Jones of Culpeper. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, as well as five brothers, one sister, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louella Smith, and his parents Willie C. and Edith Smith.
Carrington started Smith Brothers Construction with his brother, Sam Smith, in the 1970s. Smith Brothers grew to be one of the largest Drywall businesses in Northern Virginia.
After retiring, he spent most of his time outside landscaping or spending time with family. He always had a beautiful yard with many shrubs and flowers. He was always by his wife’s side. They were always together. He enjoyed taking her to her favorite beach, Fleeton Beach.
A wake will be held Monday, March 30, 2026, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Found and Sons Chapel in Culpeper, VA.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 10:00AM followed by burial at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas VA. Military Honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army.
Family and friends are invited to meet after the burial at the Culpeper VFW located at 12210 Sperryville Pike to share a meal and memories of all the wonderful times we’ve all shared with him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity or to Hospice of the Piedmont.
