Willie “Wib” Mae Ball
Willie “Wib” Mae Ball, 93, of Culpeper went to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was born July 28, 1918 in Russell County, VA to the late Toby and Edna Counts Hall.
Wib was a very caring, loving person who enjoyed taking care of others. She was an avid Bingo player, a fabulous cook and loved dancing and singing. She took great pleasure in spoiling each niece and nephew at every opportunity. She enjoyed her life to the fullest and appreciated God’s beauty.
She is survived by her brothers-in-law, Joseph Counts, Atler Stanley, Calvin White, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Earl Ball, her son, Raymond Thomas Ball, and her siblings, Betty Jane Stanley, Violet “Polly” Travis, Charlie Hall, Raymond Hall, Vernie Kiser, Sylvia “Snooks” White, and Geraldine “Jerry” Counts.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 28, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2011at 11am at Castlewood Funeral Home, 80 Donnie Dean Dr., Castlewood, VA 24224. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service at Castlewood Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, VA.
Memorial contributions may be made in Wib’s name to the Brandy Station Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 19, Culpeper, VA 22701.
The family would like to thank the staff at Culpeper Regional Hospital for their care and compassion during Wib’s stay.
