William Francis Holt's Obituary
William Francis Holt, 77, of Colonial Beach, VA, died Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at Henrico Doctors Parham Hospital in Richmond. He was born on July 8, 1930 in Hornell, New York to the late Charles M. Holt and Dora Mae Mattson Holt.
Mr. Holt was a Navy Veteran who served his country during the Korean Conflict. He took great pride in his memberships with the Culpeper, Colonial Beach and Fredericksburg Chapters of the American Legion and the Colonial Beach Moose Lodge. He was employed with FMC Corporation for 27 years and later went to work for Keller Furniture. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and taking his boat out on the water. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Helen Catherine Holt of Colonial Beach, two sons, Mark W. Holt of Washington, DC, and Christopher Holt and his wife, Deanna of Windsor, VA, three daughters, Victoria Dickinson and her husband, Robert of Richmond, Catherine Lee and her husband, James of Culpeper, and Maureen Holt of Colonial Beach.
Additional survivors include one brother, James B. Holt of Jamestown, New York and six grandchildren, Jeffery and Joseph Lee, Sara and Will Dickinson, Andrew and Alex Holt and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Charles M. Holt, Jr.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 2, 2007 at 4 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701 with the family receiving friends two hours prior to the service.
Interment will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Culpeper National Cemetery with honors being presented by the American Legion Post 330 and VFW Post 2524.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Holt’s name to the American Legion Post 330, 14222 Rixeyville Rd, Culpeper, VA 22701 and/or the Westmoreland County Animal Shelter, PO Box 1000 Montross, VA 22520.
