William Earl Burke, Sr.'s Obituary
William Earl Burke, Sr., 78, of Culpeper, died Saturday, July 28, 2007 at his residence. He was born on November 26, 1928 in Culpeper, VA to the late Marshall Eugene Burke and Alberta Burke.
Mr. Burke was a member of the First Century Baptist Church in Stevensburg. He enjoyed fishing, mowing his grass and gardening his tomatoes and green beans, which he loved to brag about. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly and cherished the time he spent with them.
He is survived by his children, Cenie Faye Greer and her husband, John of Culpeper, William Earl Burke, Jr. and his wife, Wanda of Charlottesville, Patricia Cox and her husband, Joe of Ohio, and Lewis Wayne Burke, Sr. and his wife, the late Robin Burke of Culpeper.
Additional survivors include his sister, Cenie Thompson of Wilmington, Delaware, his grandchildren, Michelle Hoffman, and her husband, Robert, Angela Gibson and her husband, Jeff, Dawn Mills and her husband, Shane, Lewis Wayne Burke, Jr. and his wife, Danielle, Kenneth Joe Cox, Marcus Cox, Amanda Burke and Marshall Burke, and his great grandchildren, Shelby Greene, Brooke Gibson, Madison Greene, Shane Mills, Trevor Mills, and Tyler Cox.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of over 55 years, Mildred Louise Burke, his son, David Eugene Burke, daughter-in-law, Robin Burke, two brothers, Daniel Marshall Burke and Claude Lee Burke and his sister, Myrtle Buraker.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Miller officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Shane Mills, Robert Scott, Roger Mitchell, Ellis Smith, Charles Reese and Charles Miller.
