William Edward Stynes' Obituary
William Edward Stynes "Poppy", 87, of Fredericksburg, passed away August 19, 2023 at his home under home hospice care.
William was surrounded with love by family until the end.
William was born January 7, 1936 in Buffalo, NY to William and Irene Stynes.
William was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He would say that his greatest achievements in life were his four sons. With the loving help of his wife Shirley, he raised his boys to be like himself - hard working, honest and dedicated. Whether he was coaching sports teams, guiding them through scouting, teaching them a trade, or being the best man for a wedding, he remained a strong figure in their lives until his last breath. Words cannot express the appreciation his boys have for the gifts their father gave them.
William is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Shirley Irene (Harms) Stynes; his four sons, William Edward Stynes lll (Susan), David Roy Stynes (Beth), Robert Evan Stynes (Susan), and Stephen Carl Stynes; his 12 grandchildren, William IV, Alysa, Taylor (Dominque), Evan, Corbin (Jessie), Lindsay, Aidan, Garrett, David, Thomas, Jonathan, and Austin; and one great-grandson, Idris.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 pm Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A memorial service will be held at 4 pm Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at St. William of York Catholic Church.
