William Eugene Spittle's Obituary
William Eugene Spittle, 93, of Culpeper died Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Harbor at Renaissance of Greene County. He was born May 23, 1924 in Nokesville, VA to the late John Matthew and Rosa Boley Spittle.
Mr. Spittle was a veteran of the US Marines Corp and served during World War II.
He is survived by three children, Gene Spittle and his wife, Aletha of Culpeper, Shirley Matthews and her husband, Matt of Myrtle Beach, and Linda Funk and her husband, Greg of Culpeper; two brothers, Joe Spittle of FL and John Spittle of Farmville, VA; seven grandchildren, William E. Spittle, II and his wife, Kendra, Richard A. Spittle and his wife, Chrissy, April G. Blake and her husband, Kevin, Anita McGill and her husband, Jody, William Matthews and his significant other, Stacey, Kenny Funk and his wife, Jessica, and Marsha Whorton and her husband, Jonathan; 15 great grandchildren, Dalton, Bayley, Kyle, Kaelie, Avery, Alyssa, Allyson, Bailey, Kasey, Layne, Hayden, Gunnar, Samantha, Shelby and Reed; and two great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Lucille Spittle; and three brothers, Elmer, Lewis and Ernest Spittle.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Greenwich Presbyterian Chapel, 15305 Vint Hill Rd., Nokesville, VA with Rev. Don Meek and Rev. Eric Beckman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Stonewall Memory Gardens.
