William "Bryan" Settle's Obituary
William Bryan Settle, 59, of Richmond, formerly of Culpeper, died Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born September 13, 1952 in Warrenton to Charles William Settle, Jr. and his wife, Jessie and Shirley May Corbin Settle Hall, both of Culpeper.
Mr. Settle was a 1970 graduate of Culpeper High School and earned a degree from Emory and Henry College in 1977. After college, he moved to Denver, CO where he met his former wife and the mother of his children. He was an avid photographer and loved the outdoors, especially hiking with his three children on Old Rag Mountain. His hobbies also included history and western movies. He enjoyed watching his children on the sports field using athletic skills he taught them. His love of family endured to the end as a powerful part of his life.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, Earl Bryan Settle, and two daughters, Emily May Settle and Molly Catherine Settle, all of Richmond and their mother, Geraldine Settle of Philadelphia, PA. He is also survived by a sister, Debbie Timbers, and her husband, Lacy, of Culpeper.
He is also survived by one nephew, Jeffrey W. Bowers and two nieces, Christy M. Miller and Carrie L. Gallahan.
He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Bryan and Mattie May Corbin, paternal grandparents, Charles W. and Mae F. Settle and an uncle, Bryan “Buck” Corbin.
The family will receive friends Thursday, November 17, 2011 from 7 – 9 pm with a Christian Wake Service at 7 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 18, 2011 at 10 am at Precious Blood Catholic Church with Fr. Leo Zonneveld officiating.
Interment will follow in the Amissville Baptist Church cemetery.
Pall bearers will be Paul and Marc LaMar, Earl Settle, Melvin Settle, Jr., John Alther, Lacy Timbers and Jeff Bowers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his daughter’s Relay for Life Team (The American Cancer Society) at 2588 Radcliffe Ave, Broomall, PA 19008
