William D. Segrest's Obituary
William D. Segrest, 86, of Amissville, VA passed away Friday, November 25, 2016 at Fauquier Hospital. He was born May 24, 1930 in Sneads, Florida, to the late William D. and the late Anna Frances Segrest.
Mr. Segrest served proudly as a member of the U. S. Army Security Agency for more than 23 years and retired honorably as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1975. His duties included assignments in several U. S. States, Germany, Turkey, and Vietnam where he was awarded the Bronze Star in addition to numerous decorations, citations, medals, ribbons and commendations.
Mr. Segrest is survived by his four children; Robert F. Segrest and wife Jamie D. of Rixeyville, VA, William S. Segrest and wife Peggy of Bealton, VA, Ann Rechin and husband Jeff of Amissville, VA, and Richard P. Segrest of Sterling, VA, and six grandchildren; William D. Segrest, C. J. and Anthony Robins, Joseph A., William J., and Heidi M. Rechin in addition to one great granddaughter, Olivia Martinez.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Nora T. Segrest.
The family will receive friends from 2-4pm on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels and Cremation Services of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
Interment will be private for the family at a later date
