William D. Reams, Jr.'s Obituary
The Honorable William Dinwiddie Reams, Jr., 82, of Culpeper died Monday, March 19, 2012 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. He was born April 24, 1929 in Culpeper to the late William D. Reams, Sr. and Flora Hudson Reams.
Judge Reams worked with the Culpeper County Commonwealth Attorney’s office for 10 years and later sat on the bench of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court for 21 years. He was a member of the Virginia and Culpeper Bar Associations and was the Past Master of the Masonic Fairfax Lodge # 43 along with other various civic organizations, specifically the water recovery unit with the Culpeper County Rescue Squad and the Little League football teams. The youth and the protection of the Community was his love second only to his wife of 56 years.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Jane Walker Reams, three children, William D. “Dinnie” Reams, III of Virginia Beach, Laura Daniel Reams Fitzgerald and her husband, Paul Robert of Manassas and Gilbert Walker “Waco” Reams and his wife, Loretta of Dillwyn, VA, six grandchildren, one grandchild, and one great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Vivian.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 11 am at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 115 N. East St., Culpeper, VA with Rev. Michael Gray officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
