William Gordon Kurtz's Obituary
William G. “Bill” Kurtz, age 80, of Manassas, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2011.
He was born in Highland, NY on January 2, 1931 to the late Hobart Kurtz and Irene Clark Kurtz. After high school he went to serve his country as an Air Police in the U.S. Air Force. Upon returning from the service he followed in the footsteps of his father and brothers by going to work for IBM. For 35 years he worked as an industrial engineer before retiring to be with his family. Bill was a member of St. Thomas United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir and served as a past trustee.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Barbara Kurtz; four children, Debbie Kurtz, Whitney Kurtz, Monique Wells and Kyle Kurtz; four brothers, Daniel, Hobart, Clark and Richard Kurtz; fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other friends and family members.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Howard Carl Kurtz and William Dominic Kurtz.
Visitation will be 2-4 PM on Monday, June 20th at the Found & Sons Lee Funeral Chapel, 8521 Sudley Rd. Manassas, VA 20109. Memorial services will follow at 7 PM at St. Thomas United Methodist Church, 8899 Sudley Rd. Manassas, VA 20110.
Inurnment will be at Stonewall Memory Gardens at a later date.
