William Woody Jones Sr.'s Obituary
William “Woody” Jones, Sr., 89, of Fredericksburg, entered into heaven on September 24, 2018 at home surrounded by his family.
Woody served his country as a corporal in the Army during the Korean War. After the Army, Woody worked for 30 years at Dahlgren Naval Base in King George. After retiring from NSWC, Woody worked for Walmart in Central Park for 18 years as the greeter known as “Mr. WalMart”.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lois; a daughter, Norma Jean Perry (Ronnie Perry); a son, William Woody Jones II (Melody Tackett-Jones); five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and other loving extended family.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A celebration of Woody’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2018 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
