William "Bill" Deighan's Obituary
William “Bill” Deighan, 81, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday 5 Nov 2019. He was the cherished husband of Dorothy (Alves) Deighan for 59 years. Born in Cranston RI, a son of the late Margaret Glades Deighan. He lived and raised his family in Pawtucket before retiring to Tampa, Fl. After enjoying the Florida sun for 24 years they journeyed to Culpeper VA to be closer to family. Bill worked at Moore Fabrics for a few years before landing a job with Texas Instruments (TI) in South Attleboro, Massachusetts. At TI, Bill worked his way up to become a day shift line supervisor of about 15 people. During the 1970’s while he coached multiple Pineview Little League teams with Dave Veloso and Don Benoit, he also found time to work with the Cub Scouts and the Webelos. After Bill and Dot raised their family, they traveled often visiting family in Ireland, England and Portugal. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with friends new and old. While going through treatment, he never thought of himself. He was always concerned with how you and your family we’re doing. Our family wants to thank everyone at Hospice of the Piedmont for their caring, kindness and dedication.
Along with his wife, he leaves his son, Patrick and his wife, Maggie; three grandchildren, Shannon and her husband, Brandon Miller, Clair and Corey Deighan; and two great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Natalie Miller.
He was the brother to the late Raymond Deighan and Louis Couture.
The family will hold a graveside ceremony at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery on West High Street, Gettysburg, PA, on 16 November at 10am.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in kind to one of the following, St. Jude’s Children Hospital, Hospice of the Piedmont or the Alzheimer’s Association.
