William Sherman Coates' Obituary
Sherman Coates, 76, of King George County, passed away unexpectedly at VCU Medical Center surrounded by his beloved family on June 11, 2022.
Sherman was a member of Fletcher's Chapel Methodist Church and a member of the Fredericksburg Eagles Club. He retired from Quantico as a carpenter.
He is survived by two daughters, Diane Oliver and Patricia Cochran (Scott Cochran); two grandsons, Josh Gentry, Sr. and Michael Harley; two great-grandsons, Joshua Gentry, Jr. and Jacob Gentry; and one great-granddaughter, Amara Faye Harley, all of King George County.
Sherman was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Faye.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Fletcher's Chapel Methodist Church, 8330 Fletcher’s Chapel Rd., King George. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
