William "Billy" Clark's Obituary
William M. (Billy) Clark, 86, of Culpeper died Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. He was born January 8, 1926 in Rappahannock to the late Maurice Gilbert and Susie Atkins Clark.
William was a veteran of the US Army and served in World War II stationed in Korea receiving the Victory Metal and Army of Occupation Medal Japan. He spent much of his life working with heavy equipment constructing roads, lakes, and clearing land for housing and commercial development. In 1991 Billy retired from William A. Hazel Company in Chantilly, Va. where he worked 25 years. He was a member of the Royal Order of Moose in Culpeper and liked to spend his time hunting, fishing and gardening. He enjoyed the success of his children and always looked forward to visits from his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Nicholson Clark, two children, Linda Clark Henshaw of Orange and Ronald W. Clark and his wife, Althea of Front Royal, and seven grandchildren, Dinah K. Licht and her husband, David of St. Joseph, IL, Robert W. Clark and his wife, Joanna of Baltimore, MD, Jason Henshaw of Reva, Matthew G. Clark and his wife, Sherrie of Culpeper, Jesse N. Henshaw of Reva, Brandon A. Clark of Front Royal and Amanda D. Clark of Front Royal and one great grandchild, Katherine Marie Clark, daughter of Robert W. Clark.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Melvin G. Clark, and four siblings, Marvin, John, Florene and Chester Clark.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 11, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 11 am at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Gary Teachey officiating.
Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Salem Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 1254, Culpeper, VA 22701.
