From Rusty Gorby:
Papa’s Poem
Fun comes to mind when we think of our Papa.
He loved to play all kinds of games.
Backflips come to mind when we think of Papa.
Flipping in the pool at 83 brought him all kinds of fame.
Singing comes to mind when we remember Papa.
He sang to Nana—he was such a romantic.
Jokes come to mind when we remember Papa.
Two blonds and a redhead—that was automatic.
Laughter comes to mind when we reminisce about Papa.
His dancing girl tattoo made us all smile.
Cool comes to mind when we reminisce about Papa.
He wore navy hats and khaki pants with just the right style.
Kindness comes to mind when we think of Papa.
He never judged anyone he ever met.
Heaven comes to mind when we think of Papa.
He’ll be fishing with the Lord Jesus—I bet.
Sending hugs to all of you!! ❤️ We love you!

Our sincere condolences to Barbara (McDaniel) Carrico and her family. Though we never met Bill we are sure he was a fine family man and loved each and every member of that family...
May God welcome him to his kingdom with open arms where he can now rest in eternal peace...

I met Bill about thirty years ago when I was first married. He and Barbara were always together as a couple - united together as best friends. They were a beautiful example of a Christian couple. To speak of Bill specifically, his uplifting, friendly, and humble manner was always present with him. He was a gentle, but strong godly man who stood faithfully with his family. What a beautiful legacy and name he has left for his family and all of us who had the privilege to have known him.
I’ve had the honor of knowing Bill since around 1988. At the time I was a young single man and a friend of his stepson Ken. That was the very beginning of my Christian walk. Bill and Barbara were among my earliest examples of a couple living their lives together for Christ’s glory. Bill was a sweet and gentle soul who to this day remains among the best examples of humility that I can think of ... A man well clothed as one of God’s chosen people.
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” - Col 3:12
Well done Bill! It will be easy to spot you in heaven as you had already adorned yourself while on earth in such a way that it will require God only a little to complete and perfect you in heaven. - Doug Stacy
While working with Mr. Bill I quickly learned that he liked candy but his Favorite was the butterfingers.... So I quickly learned to enjoy them with him! You were One of a Kind!! Your humor was something I looked for during the visits while working on your landscaping. You will be Missed Mr. Butterfingers❤️
Love,
Robin
Papa, I loved sharing Cocoa Puffs with you when we would come visit and you would always give me a hard time about how my friends were actually your friends and they liked hanging out with you more than me. You introduced me to old western movies that I still enjoy to this day and taught me how to play a very poor game of pool. I'm going to miss your jokes and your laugh. Love you, Papa! - Amanda
Bill was the kindest, dearest person we knew. Always had a smile or joke--and he laughed the hardest! Truly a dear friend who very wisely married Barbara. What a joyous day it was at their wedding! May he rest in peace.

Papa, I always remember standing next to you during prayer just so we could squeeze each others hand as hard as we could. I’ll miss having the person that squeezes my hand during prayer and the one that always reminded us that the table isn’t set until there is salt and pepper. Love you, Papa!
